invisible inc
label night #3
with
SECRET CIRCUIT [live]
SORDID SOUND SYSTEM [live]
+ djs tbc
friday 7 october
the rum shack, glasgow
At invisible inc’s 3rd label night LA’s Secret Circuit playing live. Also on board are Sordid Sound System (also playing live) with support throughout the night from invisible inc djs (exact dj line-up tbc).
This event will be very special indeed. It’s not only a first time appearance in the UK for Eddie Ruscha in his Secret Circuit guise but is also a UK/Scotland exclusive and will be taking place in Glasgow’s Rum Shack where Hieroglyphic Being played a few months back.
Secret Circuit has appeared on other labels as well as Invisible Inc (Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space, Prins Thomas’s Internasjonal Spesial and the wonderful Emotional Response to name a few) and has remixed everyone from Dengue Fever to Peter Tosh (of Bob Marley & the Wailers), from Seahawks to Peaking Lights. Active since the ‘80s you will also find his music under the names The Laughing Light Of Plenty, Blase, Thriftcoteque, Odd Numbers, Food Of The Gods, Maids of Gravity, Dada Munchamonkey, Future Pigeon, Medicine and many more.
Yet Secret Circuit’s sound is an entirely different kettle of fish from all of the above with its very distinct, quirky, afro-centric lo-fi psychedelic disco vibe. The term “tropical house” seems to have become a term in its own right in the last couple of years but truthfully is a more apt description of Secret Circuit’s sounds more than anyone else’s. After all who else plays actual Hawaian guitars over their dubbed out grooves?
Not to be missed, quite literally.

The amazing Sordid Sound System playing live on the same night.
With two sell-out EPs and mini-LPs on Invisible inc already under his belt Sordid Sound System aka Green Door Studio’s Stuart Evans is definitely on the ascending. His music has been getting radio play from Andy Weatherall, Tom Ravenscroft, Cosmo Vitelli and Glasgow’s own Optimo. He has been called up for remix duties for the likes of The Eyes Of Others, Jacob Yates & The Pearly Gate Lock-Pickers and New York’s Ritual Humor.
For this live show Sordid Sound System brings his full band to The Rum Shack.
Expect heavily dubbed out motorik krautrock dancehall.
