Christophe Le Friant aka Bob Sinclar has come a long way since his days as a legendary Paris DJ in the ’80s and ’90s, from the acclaimed Bob Sinclar debut Paradise in ’98 (a mix that towered over the French house scene and presented Sinclar as an “international man of mystery” with a wildly exotic backstory) to later projects like Africanism, to a current status that sees him among the world’s very top DJs.

For many, the first two Bob Sinclar albums remain among the cream of the French house crop, flipping disco samples to induce pure joy. On this excellent mix from 2000, the height of the era, Le Friant joined Frosty in the dublab studio while touring in support of the second Bob Sinclar album, Champs Elysées. The energy is pure. The love is real.
