Ravi Shankar passed from this plane yesterday but his music and message will resonate forever. He dedicated his life to sharing sacred Indian classical and folk music with wide audiences. He performed with virtuosic splendor and great joy. The success of his life’s pursuit reached a high pitch in the late 1960’s as eager ears around the globe were wide open to his cosmic tones. He helped shift sound consciousness forever as he influenced popular Western music with Eastern forms. Ravi Shankar greatly expanded my scope and inspired me deeply. I hope you enjoy these selections of his performances and original compositions. To continue exploring his rich legacy please visit ravishankar.org” – Frosty
