We are thrilled to have recently connected with Robert Carlos Lange. He is a gentleman bursting with creative rays and wide smiles. His band Helado Negro paid a visit to dublab for a live session and blew our minds. Since then we’ve been exploring his highly inspiring music/art/film output. Music for Memory, his installment in Asthmatic Kitty’s Library Catalog Music Series explodes our imaginations with each listen.
We were excited to receive word that Roberto created some new videos and are now happy to share them with you. These three short films are personal reflections with beautiful results. The video is all analog and the audio soundtracks were generated with Teenage Engineering’s super cute and powerful OP-1 portable synthesizer. Roberto explains the series in detail, “This is part three of a series of videos and animations. They are memories of rides at the yearly carnival that was setup in a parking lot by my school. Part one is the beginning. Its a bit like video barf. Part three is an interpretation of my attempt to kiss a girl on the ferris wheel at age 13. This video is an interpretation of that ride.” Enjoy!
