Featuring sonic inspirations, as well as friends and collaborators who took part in the project, this equally mind-altering mix is its own deep dive into the sound piece’s cultural and creative references. Reflecting on the human desire for transcendence led by pain and dissatisfaction, ‘I hate it here’ touches on folk traditions throughout eras, and religious and spiritual practices across regions in a sometimes poignant, sometimes absurd tribute to the routines and rituals designed to fathom the unfathomable.
