LA leftfield dance music don Dave Aju just dropped his fifth studio album Glossolalia in reunion with longtime elusive recording collaborators The Invisible Art Trio. The LP is filled with the genre-smashing wildly-inventive production touches the team has become well known for in discerning underground circles, so it is our pleasure to present this hour-long mix shedding some light on the deep and diverse origins of influence for the album’s content. It’s a fun and adventurous mix of everything from childhood B-boy classics and warm Rio vibes through to obscure acid ragas and Naples-meets-Tokyo twisted percussive workouts, all of which inspired the beyond outernational non-language vocal arrangements and overall Glossolalia feels, not the least of which being the Talking Heads’ seminal Speaking In Tongues which functions as the overarching sonic conceptual base of the LP.
