In celebration of Black History Month, the co-founding members of Los Angeles based BLACK BASS COLLECTIVE, DeFacto X & Alxanderivey will be playing a set that encapsulates the queer black underground scene that they are actively shaping today. While both of them pull from the same pool sonically, they each approach the music from different perspectives; giving them their own sound individually. During their set, expect hypnotic house blends mixed with energetic Afro-beats that DeFacto X discovered while working abroad in Burkina Faso this past December. Also, DeFacto X will be releasing a new EP in collaboration with Bernard Brown’s dance company (bbmoves) titled (Un | Broken: A Burkina Faso Suite) on Feb 29th. DFX will be debuting a couple of the songs from the ep during his set. While on the other side of the mixer, Alxanderivey will be bringing the bubbly/glittery beats with his song selection. BBC is honored to be spinning for dublab together on the last day of Black History Month and hope to be able to showcase more of what the Black future brings in music.
