Tropisónico is an all-vinyl transmission hosted by El Cocodrilo, a selector from South Central Los Angeles. Each month, the show dives deep into Latin vinyl while also reaching across other horizons — tracing rhythms of resistance, joy, and movement etched in wax.

Gio is a Peruvian-born DJ and founder of Rincón Tropical, a project dedicated to showcasing latin music in all its forms. Recently relocated to LA from NY, Gio brings a nomadic sensibility to his musical selection–piecing together anything from Andean rhythms to dancefloor grooves. Earlier this year, Gio published “Que Belleza”, a book focused on the unwritten history of Bolivia’s vast tropical music scene.
