Tangled is an expansion on the chapbook started by Patrick Shiroishi, aiming to explore Asian American musicians in the experimental and avant-garde scene.
On this month’s episode, Patrick is joined by nicholas michael man yee velado hon.
nicholas michael man yee velado hon is a musician and teacher living in what some people consider los angeles. he has lived here all his life and at the moment has no plans on ever leaving. his practice involves understanding that the experience of (american) music is making a life in the wake of apocalypse. working with young people is the most important thing he’s done. nicholas michael man yee velado hon practices playing the drums, writing and singing songs, playing the guitar, improvising, playing recorded music and recording music. he has released some solo music as nmmyvh and plays drums in the band ‘coyote kill you blessing’, with their first recording to be released sometime this year.
