SANTUARIO
10.03.25

Santuario is your sanctuary for deep electronic beats ranging from house music, electro and techno music, featuring music from underground labels throughout the world. This is a holy place for the music that drives us all.
On this month’s edition of Santuario, Santiago Salazar is joined by Hugo Moya (Relief Records, Chicago).
Chicago-raised DJ Hugo Moya bridges the ritual roots of electronic music with the experimental edge of the future. Inspired by David Mancuso’s Tibetan Loft jams, the underground energy of Chicago and Detroit, and the European movements that predate house and techno, Moya’s dj sets move fluidly from Afro-diasporic ecstatic rhythms and electronic experiments to deep house and meditative club soundscapes. His take on modern electronic dance music is a fusion of histories through technology of the moment.
A veteran of Chicago’s electronic music scene since his teens in the early 90’s, he was a member of Green Velvet and The Rejects performing live across the planet and featured on the track, “Dank” on the 2001 LP, “Whatever”.
He released a handful of 12” singles as “Snap Mode” on Relief and Cajual Records in the early 2000’s and is currently working on new projects. As a featured DJ on dublab’s Santuario, Moya channels decades of underground lineage into soundscapes that treat the dance floor as both sanctuary and portal.
