dublab presents the Sounds of Now

shesaid.so is a global community of women who work in the music industry. Formed by members of the Los Angeles chapter, the shesaid.so Radio LA team aims to motivate, connect, and showcase the work of inspiring women worldwide. The monthly show will feature interviews and themed discussions exploring industry news, trends and women’s ever evolving forms of influence within the music ecosystem. Our conversations will include the artist/manager relationship, interviews with top talent, tips on how to breakout as a femme woman promoter, and more. The second half of the show will include an exclusive mix or live performance from some of shesaid.so LA’s favorite artists.

On this month’s episode, Often shares an exclusive mix in the first hour and host Elyn Kazarian plays some tracks and interviews Lauren Camp in the second hour.

OFTEN:
Born in the flat plains of Ohio, Often (they/she) hunts for what can carve her out. A natural wanderer, they shifted their perspectives in the Arizona desert, the mountains of France, and the crowded streets of New York. After achieving early dreams of being a working photographer, Austin began slowly sinking deeper into their infatuation with the transformational nature of sound. First fitting themselves into an electronic chill pop duo called DIMES, they played small shows in Brooklyn dives until they escaped to-and ultimately transformed from-life in Atlanta, Georgia. Often aims to provide the calm, euphoric experience of healing within her music, little spells to release our truest selves.

LAUREN CAMP:
Lauren Camp is a highly recognized and unrivaled branding and public relations professional with over a decade of experience across the music, entertainment, tech and sports industries. In 2017, Lauren founded On Record after discovering a significant lack of PR representation for independent artists and creative collaborators alike. Her goal was to create an accessible PR firm with emphasis on high-level strategic counsel, brand positioning, media relations, creative storytelling and crisis management that catered to both independent and signed talent. Priding herself on having full transparency with clients, her agency has worked with over 35 brands, mostly independent and major labels, and roughly 200 artists. In addition to heading up On Record, Lauren also manages contemporary R&B artist Kyle Dion.
