We pick the artist – They pick the music.
UI Picks is curated by the Underground Institute, an international agency for adventurous music and platform for culture. UI Picks episodes are tailored for selected underground radio stations.
This episode of UI Picks is by UI founder Mary Ocher. Mary writes: “Hi, it’s been a year of battling with isolation, and a sense of not belonging (which is somewhat of a personal complex I have to deal with even when there’s no pandemic out there).
Nothing isn’t foreign. This is a collection of tracks that convey a notion of estrangement and bewilderment by a sense of otherness, a foreigness to oneself; non-belonging, in space, places we may have never been before, in languages we don’t speak… learning to embrace that sense of not belonging and perhaps finding refuge in it”.
This episode of UI Picks feat. Tomita (twice!), James Holden, Les Trucs, Delia Derbyshire, Harry Partch, Patrick Cowley and more.
