Inspired by Guadalupe Rosales’ forthcoming memoir East of the River, A Memoir of Los Angeles Girlhood, this show moves through Home, Away, and Homecoming based on the three sections in the book. Together, Guadalupe and Ashley Alcantar trace the sounds that linger long after we’ve left a place behind: songs inherited from our mothers, music discovered while searching for ourselves, and the melodies that guide us back home.
