Wadood & Bitchimawitchh are soulmate homies that met in their late youth and quickly discovered that Cairo and Miami culture bleed into each other in magic ways. Discoteca 3ala Mars presents explorations of musical lineages between Masr, the 305 and the broader musical traditions of the surrounding regions and cultures. The intention is to explore and enjoy sounds that shape the experiences of third culture kids outside of the places they’re from.

This is being written 542 days after the start of the genocide. For almost two years we have bared witness to unprecedented levels of violence against the Palestinian people by the Zionist military, reported in great detail and at a massive scale. The ceasefire has since been violated and the aggression continues, with Gaza almost entirely flattened, and civilians, doctors and journalists continue to be actively targeted. We must continue to organize and make ourselves aware.
We feel it is important to listen to the people on the ground about what their needs are and though donating to vetted mutual aid initiatives and networks is helpful in the long run, the crisis that Gazans and other Palestinians face is extremely pressing and demand more immediate action.
This involves:

Being as educated as possible on the Palestinian struggle for liberation
Spreading awareness using the platforms you have access to and are able to use
Participating in actions being organized in your area (if you are able)
Putting pressure on your representatives to demand an immediate ceasefire

This resource is not exhaustive but it is still extensive. It is a huge task to attempt to internalize the material in one go. With that in mind, these are only tools that are meant to provide some means of support to understanding the nature of the struggle and encouraging the development of critical thinking skills and media literacy. This task is massive precisely because the knowledge and awareness provided here can be applied to other struggles. Because of this it is important to recognize that these struggles are interconnected.
