Michael Stock is a deep vinyl purist. His record collection induces gasps and moans amongst the heaviest of post-punk nerds. We’re so thrilled he’s enthusiastic to share his rare discs with you the dublab listener.

As a contribution to dublab’s German Sound Exploration project we curated in conjunction with the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles, Michael dove deep into the German underground of the late 1970’s and early 80’s. His Neue Deutsche Welle mix is devoted to New German Wave coming from independent labels like ZickZack, Ata Tak and Monogram but also going far beyond. These labels released small runs of some of the most intense and progressive sounds of the Post-Punk era and paved the way for industrial and other synth-based genres.
