Jimmy Tamborello - Dying Songs

Tropisónico is an all-vinyl transmission tracing the pulse of Latin sound across time and place. Hosted by El Cocodrilo, a selector from South Central Los Angeles, the show blends rhythms rooted in the tropics and reshaped by migration, independent pressings, and underground dance floors.

Each month, Tropisónico explores the raw energy and quiet intricacies of Latin music, from deep salsa dura and psychedelic cumbia to rare disco, barrio boogaloo, and Afro-Caribbean funk. This isn’t nostalgia — it’s a living archive of resistance, joy, and movement, etched in wax.

More than a mix, each episode is a vinyl-driven journey — linking genres, cities, and stories across continents. For dancers, diggers, and seekers of sound, Tropisónico delivers pure analog heat from the global south — raw, unfiltered, and guided only by the groove.

On this edition of Tropisónico, El Cocodrilo is pleased to have special guest Como La Flor, founder and creator of Vinyl Hangout!
