Emma Higgins is a writer and director whose work blends coming-of-age storytelling with a sharp genre sensibility. Most recently, she made her feature directorial debut with Sweetness, which premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival and is now available to rent and own. The film has been praised for its fresh, dark take on adolescence and stars Kate Hallett, Herman Tømmeraas, and Aya Furakawa.

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Emma is a self-taught filmmaker who has built a distinctive career directing commercials and music videos, known for her bold visual style and eye-catching art direction. Her music video for Jessie Reyez’s “No One’s in the Room” took home Video of the Year at the 2021 Juno Awards, and she’s collaborated with brands including YouTube, Chime, Cheetos, Best Buy, and Rockstar Energy. Emma now calls Los Angeles home, where she’s continuing to build her unique voice as a filmmaker.
