Lucid Hour is a monthly show by LA-based DJ Encarnación. Encarnación weaves together upbeat international sounds such as Afrobeat, Brazilian folk, latin funk, Italo, and Cumbia with the western music they influenced to create a luminous soundscape that knows no boundaries. With an emphasis on obscurity and low fidelity, Encarnación seeks to draw connections among culture, art, struggle, love, and light.
This week Encarnación shares space with Sand Dollar Radio, hosted by friend and collaborator Will Brady. Will is a Long Beach based artist and DJ whose inspiration is drawn from simple pleasures — a tennis match, the ocean, a tall boy at the Dodger game. Sand Dollar Radio will take you there.
