APEX
04.17.22

APEX (Asia Pacific Exports) focuses on delivering music from the deepest corners of the globe; the Asia Pacific. Run by Chinese-New Zealander DJ, Jess Fu, APEX welcomes guest DJs from across the Asia Pacific and it’s diaspora. The show dives into all genres from all centuries; from disco to indie rock, to electronic to traditional, indigenous music.
M4URI M4STA is the ORO self of Abigail Aroha Jensen, an interdisciplinary artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa. (New Zealand)
Aroha has been exploring oro (world of sound) through Ngā Taonga Pūoro (Māori musical instruments) field recordings and improvised arrangements.
Building soundscapes from whenua (the land) both urban and te taiao (natural world) to contrast contemporary environments with traditional form.
M4URI M4STA delivers a mix that tunes us into Ngahuru, the autumnal season.
The vibe is set by crunchy artists of Aotearoa and beyond. Old and new.
Laced with pūoro ambience, experimental transitions and breaks between.
Moody. Coarse. Ethereal?
Arohanui to those who have left this AO for the other and special thanks 2 HINE NGARO, may she continue to keep us in line.
Embrace da PŪORO PL4Y.
