Let’s Be Friends celebrates the people who shape the dance music community. Each month, Pretty Gay Friendly brings a mix of music and conversation, highlighting DJs, promoters, and organizers who create spaces for connection and belonging.

The show focuses on sharing stories, building friendships, and recognising the people who make the dancefloor feel like home. Guided by the same warmth and floor-driven sensibility that defines his DJ sets, the aim is to foster inclusion, connection, and the joy of bringing people together.

This month on Let’s Be Friends, I am joined by Eva Myra May, an artist whose work feels deeply personal, expressive, and rooted in community. Eva’s approach to music moves between celebration and introspection, always grounded in identity, experimentation, and connection. I am excited to spend time talking about how her journey from New York to Los Angeles has shaped her sound and the spaces she creates.

Eva Myra May – Intersex Artist, Producer, and Designer, Eva found her groove as an independent Queer musician and DJ when moving with her prolific vinyl collection from NYC > LA where she acquired a deep love for gender euphoria, sequencers, and dance floors. Serving third places and working rooms across LA clubs and afters since 2018, she brings her keen selections blended alongside a wealth of unreleased original music that channels raw emotional statements about identity, vices, and virtue. Her projects and local collaborations span an ever-expanding list of genres, techniques, and formats. Delightful switch-ups keep you wondering how far her range and technical prowess truly go.

She also runs EVAMM: a Queer music collective and radio, highlighting the her community of friends, artists, and local inspirations from an intimate, well-lived-in room she built for connecting through the music.
