On Alexandra Lippman’s show, Sound Study will follow unexpected resonances, feedback, and musical migration around the world. Tune in for situated listening, original field recordings, and occasional interviews with guest DJs, artists, and scholars.
Kelman Duran is a Dominican artist, music producer, and DJ based in Los Angeles. He studied film at CalArts and was part of the RAIL UP. His albums include1804 Kids (2017),13th Month (2019), and Night in Tijuana (2021). He founded the SCORPIO RED label and contributed songwriting and music production to Beyoncé’s Renaissance (2022). We recorded this show at Kelman’s studio in downtown LA on December 15, 2018.
